There is a lot of emphasis on "premium" these days but if every brand claims to be the best, most luxurious etc. all you've created is a shouting match (i.e. Vodka branding) The truth is, When you have a strong brand identity you don't have to say anything at all.

Trafficking Mixed Messages

Credits:
Avertiser: AMNESTY INTERNATIONAL
Brand name: CAMPAIGN AGAINST SEX TRAFFICKING
Agency: Walker
Country: Switzerland
Category: Public awareness messages

Here's a thought. When you go about making a Sex Trafficking PSA don't use sex appeal. Everything about this ad is conflicting from the font choice to the air brushed model to the barely readable web address.

Light-brite Beats

Developer Yu Nishibor

Battles has a go at the Tenori-on

Though it’s been out since the UK launch last Autumn in Manchester, the Yamaha Tenori-on has garnered worldwide interest since making it’s way into live performances from Kraftwerk to Battles to Atom Hart and it’s ease of use has musicians buzzing. Develper and media artist Yu Nishibori explains,

It is mainly a sampler, but it has a preset of its own generated sounds and can be used as a MIDI controller. So when you push a button, you can generate a sound. When you push longer, it enters a meter of rhythm and you can also set that tempo. You can adjust the pitch and frequency on a kind of time line. The bottom line would be the low sounds, the higher lines are the higher frequencies.

The First Rule of Compfight...

Anyone who has wasted hours searching for watermark-free images for comps can attest that any search word will inevitably produce more images of cats than what you are really searching for. Compfight searches through thousands of Flikr accounts to deliver high-quality, relevant images for creative purposes. Even better, the creative commons function will search for images available for commercial use.

Bag Man

Joshua Allen Harris' Inflatable Sculptures combine two common sights familiar to every New Yorker, trash bags and subway vents. A far cry from the dancing fan man at your local muffler shop.
