Let's Go Get Lost Trailer
Growing up in Minnesota during the early days of snowboarding it was never about $80 lift tickets, high-speed quads or one hundred foot kickers. Isensevens Let's Go Get Lost feels like a day in the city park with slightly more expensive camera work. Nice.

Lost in a Moment
A one take impromptu film made in Tokyo by Dennis Wheatley and Stefan McClean for the song Lost in a Moment from Shrift. "What we loved about watching this film back was the space that the camera was able to enter.. extremely personal and scrutinising but not too lingering."

Developer Yu Nishibor
Battles has a go at the Tenori-on
Though it’s been out since the UK launch last Autumn in Manchester, the Yamaha Tenori-on has garnered worldwide interest since making it’s way into live performances from Kraftwerk to Battles to Atom Hart and it’s ease of use has musicians buzzing. Develper and media artist Yu Nishibori explains,
It is mainly a sampler, but it has a preset of its own generated sounds and can be used as a MIDI controller. So when you push a button, you can generate a sound. When you push longer, it enters a meter of rhythm and you can also set that tempo. You can adjust the pitch and frequency on a kind of time line. The bottom line would be the low sounds, the higher lines are the higher frequencies.

Internet Killed the Video Star

Arcade Fire's Neon Bible
With more and more music fans looking for videos online, it was only a matter of time before the music video itself became interactive. For their new song Neon Bible, Arcade Fire tapped the director/action script programer Vincent Morisset for this dark vaudevillian inspired gem. The Neon Bible music video(?) seems like only the beginning for online music video's interactive potential. Expect big things to come from this still untapped corner of the web in the coming months.

Diesel Ad Smaks of Unoriginality
Listen, if you are going to swipe creative, we suggest you not do it from a major label music video. The new Diesel ad featuring dancing instructor Aarif Smaks from Finland features one of Smaks original instructional videos only the music is swapped with some modern tunes. Seems like a fine idea but there is only one problem, I could have sworn I had seen it before. It took most of the morning but I finally remembered where I recognized Mr. Smaks from. A couple months ago I was watching a Ryan Adams music video for the song Halloweenhead which presumably, is exactly what the ad wizards behind this Diesel ad were doing when they stole the idea. The video claims to have more than 11,768 views on Youtube, a fraction of record sales for a little known, Grammy nominated musician.

Kanye Who?
Mopeds out. Skateboards back in. Here's why we love Lupe Fiasco's video "Kick Push": To begin with, neither Kanye West nor R. Kelly make an appearence in this Chicago music video. We also love Lupe Fiasco for featuring local skate shop Uprise in the video. There is no better endorsement than a well known recording artist shouting praise for your product or service because they themselves are a fan. If your looking to give voice to your business, start with the people who actually patronize it. Chances are they can tell you why the product sells better than any pitchman or business plan.

I Want My MTV.com
The ad units for MTV have always been infinitely better than the programming. The new ads featuring collaborating musicians Aesop Rock and Blockhead come from a series of clips made almost exclusively for MTV.com featuring the two as the hapless hosts of their very own public access show. Complete with fake waterfalls and smoke machines, the faux variety show titled “I’m trying to help” comes from Aesop’s most recent album title. Along with eccentric guests, clueless callers and the occasional prop mishap, Aesop performs songs from the upcoming album. Short clips of the show are shown in between MTV’s regularly nauseating programs and are meant to drive music fans to MTV.com where the station will try and provide at least some content still relevant to music. More clips from the show found here.

A Million Little Batteries
It's summer in Chicago and Chi-town has gone moped crazy! It's a fact. Just when R-kelly's Trapped in the Closet was loosing it's pop-value steam the Hollywood Holt have picked up the slack of awsomely ridicules Chicago trends. Don't believe us? The new moped store down the street has been open since May...and it's still open.
